Which AI video tools write the script for you?

Four help pages describe a writer built in. D-ID's text generator writes a script from a question or a topic; Descript's AI write tools brainstorm, outline and draft before recording; Kapwing's script generator works from a short prompt; Pictory goes from an idea to a script and then to a video. From 4 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

Inclusion rule. A tool is listed when its own help page covers what the question asks. Order. Tools in alphabetical order.

A generated script is a starting draft, and every one of these pages puts it before the recording or the video, where changing it is still free.

The tools write for different kinds of video. Descript's tools sit in front of a recording session; D-ID, Kapwing and Pictory write for videos made from the script itself, with an avatar, stock footage or generated clips.

For drama the script is also where characters, scenes and lines are fixed, so a draft that is edited before anything is generated saves regenerating shots later.

2A generator's own guide on this

Set beside “Which AI video tools write the script for you?”, two passages from the guides SceneMixer publishes about its own pipeline:

SceneMixer separates the script language from the production language: the output (episode outlines, storyboards, on-screen text) follows your interface language, and target-region localization adapts character names, casting, and scenery for Western, East Asian, Southeast Asian, or Latin American audiences.

An AI short drama is a serialized show of 60–120 second vertical episodes whose cast, sets and footage are generated by AI. Making one takes six steps: analyze the script into episodes, lock a consistent cast with reference art, localize for your market, write and edit storyboards, generate each 4–15 second shot, then composite and publish.
