Kling AI and Runway help docs, step by step
Kling AI's docs have a page on four of the seven steps and Runway's on all seven; the two are documented differently on six: keeping characters the same, breaking a story into scenes or shots, voices and dialogue, changing one shot or scene, getting the video out and sharing for viewing or review. From 4 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

1Where the manuals differ
Only Runway has a page on changing one shot or scene, getting the video out and sharing for viewing or review. Both document starting from a script or prompt, keeping characters the same, breaking a story into scenes or shots and voices and dialogue.
For a project that moves between the two, the steps one leaves out are where the other's pages are worth reading first.
2From each tool's pages
Starting from a script or prompt
By inputting a text passage, the Kling large model generates a 5-second or 10-second video that translates the text into visual imagery.
