Multi-shot: several cuts inside one generation
A multi-shot generation produces one clip that contains several connected shots, with the cuts planned by the model, from a single prompt. From 2 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Runway's Multi-Shot Video generates up to five connected shots from one text prompt and handles shot planning and transitions. Kling AI's 3.0 guide lists support for multi-shot narratives among the model's upgrades.
Multi-shot changes how a scene is written. Instead of one prompt per shot, the prompt describes a sequence.
The benefit is continuity: the model sees the whole sequence at once, so faces and light carry across the cuts more easily than between separate clips.
The cost is control. A shot inside a multi-shot clip cannot always be redone on its own.
Both pages describe the feature as a way to tell a short sequence in one go, which suits a dialogue exchange or a quick action beat better than a long scene. Longer scenes still need several clips joined together.

Reading a clip produces a scene-by-scene script: who is there, what happens, every line of dialogue, in order.
