Where each AI video tool documents each step

The doc map as a data file

All 183 readings are in one CSV under CC BY 4.0: one per tool and step, plus a second page for Descript's export. Steps with no page found are rows with an empty value, so gaps can be counted with the rest. As of 2026-09-25.

Inclusion rule. Every column in the file. Order. File order.

1Reading a row

Take runway-voices: it is Runway's page on voices; kapwing-scenes is Kapwing's page on scenes, which records that its Scenes view was retired. The applies_to column holds each page's title as the tool wrote it.

Where one page serves two steps, as with a single guide on joining and sharing an episode, it appears twice, once per step, with a different sentence quoted each time.

Help pages are renamed, merged and moved often. Treat each row as a pointer to the page as it stood on the day searched.

The file carries no rating of any page; it records where the explanation is and what it covers.

The source_name column tells the kinds of documentation apart: a help centre, a knowledge base, a learning centre, quickstart guides, official guides, a documentation site, or a blog post on the tool's own domain.

Counting rows by step gives the coverage figures used across the site: the script step has the most pages, changing one shot the fewest.

Joining the file with a tool's own sitemap shows how much of a help centre the map uses: a handful of pages out of dozens or hundreds, chosen one per step.

3A generator's own guide on this

Set beside “Data”, two passages from the guides SceneMixer publishes about its own pipeline:

Scene order, dialogue and beats follow the script; what the pipeline adds is coverage — which shot sizes, who is in frame, how long each shot holds.

SceneMixer, Script to Video, End to End — “How faithful is the shot list to my script?” (read 2026-10-13)

Paste a scene or a short script and SceneMixer gives you a storyboard — numbered shots with framing and seconds — and then a moving version of each segment, which you can join into a rough cut of the scene.

The quote column. Each reading in the file also carries the words on its source page that it was read from, so any row can be checked against that page. Rows recorded as not stated on the pages read leave it empty.
